People intrigue me and I think people watching could be an Olympic sport. You never know what happened in the moments before you saw an individual, or what they are actually carrying inside of themselves over time.
I enjoy depicting faces, figures and forms in abstracted environments. I believe there are multiple layers to life and I use many overlays in my art including paint, collage, and mark making to showcase that everyone’s life is build upon many varied and complex surfaces.

My inspiration installation in my studio allows me to dream, deliberate and decide what direction to go in next. My own art is close by and helps me to remember a specific feeling or emotion that I can tap into to move forward in my work.
The wonderful works of several artists that I admire, and who have encouraged me, also keep me company and help to guide me on my artistic journey. I am the sum of all of my experiences and I am deeply grateful for the generous teachers and mentors who I have met, and continue to meet, along the way.
My art allows me to seek out emotions and moments in a subject’s life and tell artful stories of their humanity. I hope I can move the viewer in some meaningful way to connect with my subjects as well. I continually seek to understand, embrace, and depict the beauty and the chaos that life offers us all, and I strive to capture those aspects in the work I create.
